Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2-inch tablet to go into production this year, report says

Samsung Galaxy

Samsung’s FCC-confirmed 12.2-inch Galaxy Note tablet is said to hit production by the end of 2013, although a release date is not yet in sight.

The news comes from Taiwanese website DigiTimes, and it’s based on “Taiwan-based supply chain makers,” although the publication is not always right with its predictions.

The 12.2-inch tablet has already passed through the FCC, and it’s rumored to pack some interesting specs, although nothing is officially official just yet.

The device will reportedly have a 2560 x 1600 display, 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 8-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and LTE support (the cellular version).

The tablet may very well be included in the Note line of smartphones and tablets, as FCC drawings indicate that the device could house an S Pen stylus, which is a characteristic for Note-branded Android devices made by Samsung.

We have no idea how much an oversized tablet will cost, or when it will ship to consumers, but we’re certainly going to keep tabs on the 12.2-inch Galaxy tablet rumor mill for you!
