In celebration of the FAA, Amazon Kindle Fire HD and HDX go on sale – today only

As you might already be aware, the FAA recently announced that they were changing up their guidelines, allowing mobile devices to remain powered on throughout all stages of flight. The only exception is that you will still have to keep your phones in airplane mode. The FAA decision is a pretty big deal for frequent travelers, and a change that people have been hoping to see for years now.

In celebration of the FAA’s decision, Amazon is offering 15 percent off on the 7-inch versions of the Kindle, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX. This brings down the price to $59, $118 and $195 respectively. As you might expect, there a few small catches here.

First, only one discount offer per order. Second, the deal is limited to those in the United States. Lastly, the promotion only runs through today, so you better act quickly.

While this might not be a huge savings, every dollar counts and this promotion could be perfect for those thinking about picking up one of Amazon’s tablets in time for the holidays. Although Amazon’s tablets might not have the ‘full’ Android experience you’d find with other comparable devices like the Nexus 7 (2013), they are still high-quality tablets with some pretty cool features on offer.

What do you think, do you plan on picking up one of Amazon’s Fire tablets today?
