Google Maps v4.1.1

Google has updated the latest version of their Google Maps for mobile devices. The new version is available for the usual mobile flavours, including Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Symbian V60, and others.

Some new features added to Google Maps v4.1.1 include Latitude, and also updated was My Location, so you can see your location on a map, even if you don’t have GPS. Not 100% sure how accurate it will be, I’m sure it uses IP addresses in combination with nearby wireless access points – which is a very controversial method of determining your location, according to this NY Times article here. The search by voice feature is very nifty, I’ve used it several times already.

Over 250,000 people have downloaded already, what are you waiting for?

Find it in the marketplace. Here’s the official changelog:

New features:
* New search result page. Swipe to move to the next result.
* Add the Latitude widget to your home screen to see nearby friends at a glance.

Also includes:
* My Location
* Business listings
* Directions
* Traffic
* Street View
* Latitude
* Layers
* Navigation (beta)
* Search by voice
