Gameloft stands down in Android dispute

Reports emerged last week that Gameloft’s T&C’s prevented users from downloading any titles they may have purchased more than once. This is particularly problematic for Android users as the limited amount of memory in many handsets means that the erasing and re-downloading of apps is a fairly common practice.

And, of course, it also presented problems for those who lose their phone or simply want to upgrade to another handset.

However, now PocketGamer reports that Gameloft has had a change of heart. It now says that: “Android HD+ games sold through Gameloft’s store will allow you to re-download a game that you paid for.

“Unfortunately this change will take a bit of time but rest assured we will announce once it is live.”
