Not at all that long ago microSD cards of even somewhat reasonable capacities would often cost a pretty penny, and those above 128GB were pretty much out of reach unless you were willing to put up close to $100 or more. Thankfully, microSD pricing has fallen considerably recently, with even 200GB cards falling as low as around $200.
For those interested in getting a good deal on an 128GB card, the Patriot LX Series 128GB high speed Micro SDXC Class 10 card is now just $29.99. That’s 56% down from the original listing price, and at least $10 to $20 cheaper than you’ll find most other comparable cards of the same capacity. The Patriot LX offers transfer speeds of up to 70MB/sec and should play nicely with most recent Android devices.
If you’re not sure what “Micro SDXC” means or if you want more information on high capacity cards and how theywork with Android, you’ll want to check out Gary’s video post published back in May as part of his “Gary Explains” video series.
For those interested in picking up a great card at a great price, you might want to move fast. While there’s no official timeframe for this price, Amazon’s pricing tends to fluctuate considerably.
