Some smartphones made by OnePlus, including the recently launched OnePlus 3T, include support for its own technology to charge smartphone batteries faster called Dash Charge. But what is the difference between Dash Charge and the other competing technologies that promise faster ways to charge smartphones? OnePlus decided to recruit American supermodel and actress Emily Ratajkowski to explain in a video how Dash Charge really works.

Ratajkowski calls herself a “tech fan” in the clip, and we must say she does a pretty good job detailing how Dash Charge does indeed work. She tells us that while competing fast charging battery tech methods turn up the voltage, at the expense of higher heat, the Dash Charge method increases the amps for a faster battery charge without the heat. She even shows us OnePlus’ proprietary adapter and cable that is needed to make this process work.
