British Airways Says Goodbye to the Paper Boarding Pass

British Airways had an exciting announcement this past week when they laid our their new mobile phone strategy.

The first big takeaway is that they will be releasing all new apps for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc. This is fantastic news. I’ve always been a little disappointed with the British Airways iPhone apps. While it’s useful – it’s not the prettiest app around and could use more functionality.

BA App 2.0 answers those criticisms and then innovates in an entirely unexpected way; they would like to chuck the paper boarding pass out the window. Yes, that’s right – Pretty soon, you’ll be able to board an airplane simply by showing your boarding pass on your phone.
