Archos may not be on the same league as the Apple iPad, but it sure is a great tablet PC that has its own set of fans and followers.

Archos has announced that their new 64GB Archos 5 Tablet is now available for purchase. But before you get excited, do note that this device is at present only available in the France market and will take some more time before it hits the US and other major markets in the world.

Of course, there are other versions with higher capacities up to 500GB as well, but this 64GB model is onboard chip-based storage, rather than a traditional hard drive.

The 64GB Archos 5 Tablet is priced at a competitive? €399.98. It remains to be seen how well this new edition is received in the market. The 16GB edition is $300.
