The Taiwanese giant is reportedly also hard at work designing not one, but two tablets, a 7-inch model and a 10-inch one.

They will both feature ARM processors and will launch at some point in the fourth quarter. They will both run Android, presumably with either 2.1 or 2.2. Flash support will also be available out of the box, but whether or not there will be some kind of hardware acceleration for Flash is not yet known.

Acer is also talking to telecom companies to partner with to bring the tablets to market. That may mean that, at least in some markets, these puppies might be subsidized by your carrier of choice. For example, FarEasTone is reported to be Acer’s launch partner in its home market of Taiwan.

It remains to be seen if or how this pans out. However, it does seem that every company that’s into computing or mobile is busy prepping some kind of a tablet effort, and they’re almost all scheduled for release in Q4 of this year.
