LG F490L ‘Liger’ further detailed in new images and benchmarks

Yesterday we reported on the LG F490L “Liger”, a phablet-sized smartphone with a 5.9-inch display and an LG-made NUCLUN processor. Now we have several new photos and some spec details that give us an even better idea of what to expect.

We already knew that LG’s NUCLUN (also known as ‘Odin’) processor would offer eight cores, four at 1.2GHz and four at 1.5GHz, but the benchmarks also list the GPU as an IMG Tech PowerVR, though no specifics are revealed beyond that. Other specs line up with yesterday’s report including 2GB RAM, 16 or 32GB storage, a 13MP camera, a 3000 mAh battery and a size of 157.8 x 81.8 x 9.5mm.

Additionally, AnTuTu 5 benchmark info also reveals the handset’s chipset is considerably less impressive than current 2014 flagship-level Android devices. Everything we know about Liger points to a mid-range device that is likely more about experimenting with in-house SOCs than generating a bunch of sales.

It is also suggested that the handset will end up being branded with the “LG G3” moniker, as yet another spin-off to bear the flagship’s name.
