A new report indicates that Vodafone will soon launch a couple of new tablets, the Smart Tab III 7 and Smart Tab III 10, both carrying the mobile operator’s own branding.
Lenovo, the same company that built the Vodafone Smart Tab II models back in 2012, apparently makes the devices – which will measure 7- and 10-inch, as you may have guessed.
Pricing details and launch dates are not available for the two upcoming tablets, but since the Android tablet space is already crowded with a variety of 7- and 10-inch affordable offers, we would expect the new Smart Tabs to be quite affordable as well, especially since they’re tablets created in-house by the carrier.
Bluetooth SIG certifications are already available for both tablets, revealing that they’ll run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean from launch.

When it comes to specs, the Smart Tab III 10 will offer a 10-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GHz MediaTek processor Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and 3G support. The Smart Tab III 7 will offer a 7-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 display, while all the other specs should be similar to what its bigger brother will have to offer.
UK Android fans will probably be the first to have access to these tablets, once Vodafone is ready to make them official. Needless to say that we’re certainly more interested in the upcoming new Nexus 7, although, from the looks of it, more and more companies will be looking forward to get a piece of the Android tablet market.
[Update:] According to TabletsMagazine, the two Smart Tab III tablets are indeed Lenovo tablets, and the publication identifies the 7-inch model as the Lenovo IdeaTab A3000, while the 10-inch tablet is said to be the Lenovo IdeaTab S6000.
