Toshiba Excite 10 goes on sale for $449.99, ships with Tegra 3 and ICS

Toshiba announced the coming of not just one or two, but of a trio of Excite tablets last month. On schedule with the company’s plan, the 10.1-inch version of the slate, the Excite 10, has now been made available at various online retailers. Going for $449.99, the Toshiba Excite 10 is priced lower than its two siblings.

Aside from the inclusion of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, what else can one find in the Toshiba Excite 10? The first of the Excite tablet line will boast a 10.1-inch screen IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and 10-hour life battery. Competing for the title of the thinnest and lightest Android tablet, the Toshiba Excite 10 comes in at only 8.9mm in thickness and 600 grams in weight.

If you prefer your tablet to come with bigger internal storage, you’ll do well by picking up the 32GB or 64GB model of the Toshiba Excite 10, for $529.99 and $649.99 respectively.

As for the other two Toshiba Excite tablets, the Excite 7.7 and Excite 13, both slates have passed through FCC and are still on track for a June release. The Toshiba Excite 7.7 will ship with a gorgeous 7.7-inch Super AMOLED display and sell from $499.99 for the 16GB model, while the gargantuan Toshiba Excite 13 with its 13.3-inch IPS display and 1600 x 900 resolution will go for $649.99.

So how about them Toshiba Excite tablets? Do you think Toshiba should’ve matched the price of the Excite 10 with the recently released Samsung Tab 2 10.1?
