Samsung readies an S-pad

KOREAN ELECTRONICS MAKER Samsung is getting ready to unleash a tablet to an audience that didn’t know it needed one until Apple entered the market.

A report on the Korean website Etnews suggests that the Samsung S-Pad will use the Google Android operating system, will have a 7-inch super AMOLED display and include handy things like 3G and WiFi connectivity.

It is unfair to poke fun at translation technology, but we’ll do it anyway. According to Google Translate, “Samsung goes beyond the capabilities of Apple’s highest-performance pads Tablet PC is released early in August.”

Etnews has had a chat with a spokesman from the firm, who apparently said that the device would “counter the Iphone rather than the traditional PC and consumer electronics products that span the convergence of digital devices.”

Something may have been lost in translation, but reading between the lines we assume Samsung is hoping to kick Apple in the Ipad.
