VR is going to be big, there’s no doubt about that. Oculus, HTC, Sony, Microsoft, Samsung, and several others have already thrown their hats into the ring. The trick now is making the average consumer aware of it. It looks as if Samsung is doing just that with their Gear VR.

Following record-breaking pre-order sales with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung is celebrating its early success by offering a special VR bundle for all new Samsung flagship owners. For a limited time, these proud Galaxy owners can purchase a Samsung Gear VR for 50% off and get free access to several premium games found on the Oculus Store. Some of the games included are Darknet, Anshar Wars 2, Drift, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Starchart, and Ocean Rift. The promotion extends to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge buyers at O2, Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone.

Thanks to the increased popularity of the Galaxy S7 line, interest in mobile VR tech is increasing in the country as well, and promotions like this will help Samsung further leverage this growth. Seeing as how 300,000 of Samsung’s VR sets have already been sold this year alone, that’s quite an impressive increase.

Samsung is confident that connecting their high-demand Galaxy headsets with the Gear VR will open new doors for amazing experiences going forward, especially for mainstream consumers that aren’t interested in more expensive VR headsets.

This special offer is only valid for S7 purchases between May 16th and June 4th. Additional details can be found at the press release below.

Have you already purchased a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge? What do you think of it? Will you be getting the Gear VR bundle if you’re eligible? Let us know down in the comments!
