As to be expected, there’s a great deal of custom Samsung software here. The biggest change from previous Samsung tablets however, is the new Magazine UX.

The new Magazine UI replaces the old TouchWiz homescreen launcher is designed to optimize the extra space on a large screen, making it easy to organize content in the dashboard. While the design is certainly a bit like the “My Magazine” app from the Note 3 and Note 10.1, you can still add regular apps, shortcuts and widgets as well. Furthermore, you can even split your screen into four different windows using multi-window. In short, no space is ever wasted on the Galaxy TabPro.

Like the NotePro, the TabPro includes $700 worth of bundled “premium” apps, designed to help it live up to its Pro name. This includes long-term subscription offers to services such as Bitcasa, Blurb, Cisco WebEx Meetings, Dropbox, Easilydo Pro for Tablet, Evernote, Hancom Office for Android, LinkedIn, LIVESPORT.TV, NY Times, Oxford Advanced Learner’s A-Z, Bloomberg Businessweek+, and Sketchbook Pro.

Expected availability

The Galaxy TabPro 10.1 will be available in several markets starting in the 1st quarter of this year. No exact word on pricing just yet, but we’ll be sure to update as soon as we learn more. Samsung will also have plenty of accessories for the Pro series. Some of these include book covers, a universal Bluetooth keyboard and even a S Action Mouse.

What do you think of the Galaxy TabPro 10.1? Impressed by the new Pro series or not?
