Samsung Galaxy Note Pro heading to the U.S. on February 13th, priced at $850

Galaxy NotePRO 12.2

A little over a week ago a leaked Samsung memo indicated that a major product would be launching around Valentine’s Day. At the time it seemed likely that the memo was talking about the Galaxy TabPro and NotePro series.

Although we still can’t say for sure when the TabPro is coming, a new listing from Office Depot indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is now up for pre-order and will arrive just a day before Valentine’s Day, on February 13th. Now for the bad news: don’t expect the Note Pro to come cheap. According to the retail listing, the 64GB model is priced at $849.99.

For those that need the refresher, the Note Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include 64GB storage, microSD, an 8MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, a 9500 mAh battery, S-pen support, and Android 4.4 KitKat with the new Magazine UI.

So is the NotePro worth the steep asking price? Really it depends on what you’re looking for. If you absolutely want the new Magazine UI, included free premium apps and the largest display possible — perhaps. For that are simply looking for a larger tablet with S-Pen support, you’re probably better off considering the Note 10.1 2014 edition.

What do you think, planning on picking up the Note Pro in time for Valentine’s Day or is the asking price just too much? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
