At Google’s Android and Chrome event in San Francisco today, Google was quick to reveal that there have been 70 million Android tablet activations, and that there are over 1 million applications in the Google Play Store.

Google employee Sundar Pichai revealed that one in two tablets sold is an Android tablet and that the Nexus 7 alone accounts for 10% of Android tablet market share. Sundar Pichai also revealed that there have been over 50 billion applications downloaded in the Play Store, up from 20 billion last year.

Revenue for developers has increased by 2.5x in the last 12 months, and revenue per user is also up 2.5x over last year.
