OnePlus 3/3T beta update brings new launcher customization options

The latest OxygenOS Open Beta 19/10 for the OnePlus 3 and 3T brings a bunch of new features and improvements to both devices. The main one is a new version of the OnePlus Launcher (v2.1), which now supports dynamic icons for Weather and Calendar. It also adds search history records in the app drawer, meaning you can now see the five most recent apps in the first row.

Newly installed apps are now tagged with a blue dot, so you’ll be able to locate them a lot faster. This comes especially in handy for those who have a lot of apps installed on their device. Another addition is the option of accessing icon packs on the Play Store directly from the launcher’s settings, where the version of the launcher is also displayed.

The OxygenOS Open Beta update also adds the ability to see the battery status of connected Bluetooth devices and allows you to adjust the size of the clock widget, which has an updated design. Other things worth mentioning are the email address recognition feature within text messages, redesigned incoming call animations, and OnePlus font optimizations for select languages. The company also claims that the Smart Callback feature now “works better”.

Those of you who have an Open Beta on your device might have already received the update or will receive it soon. In case your smartphone isn’t running an open beta software but you would like to try out the new features, you’ll have to flash it to your OnePlus 3 or 3T.
