Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi now getting Android 4.4.3 OTA – get it here

Yesterday Google published factory images and binaries of Android 4.4.3 for some of its Nexus devices, and now we are seeing the first over the air updates hitting the Wi-Fi version of the Nexus 7 (2013).

Normally, updating your Nexus device is a game of patience, as rollouts happen in stages and it can take several days until every last device gets the OTA. Luckily, users who received the update can capture it as a .zip file, which other users can flash on their devices, thus eliminating  waiting times. That’s exactly what XDA-Developers user EthanFirst did for the Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi.

The update weighs in at about 74 MB, and brings the Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi firmware to version KTU84L, up from KOT49H, the current Android 4.4.2 version. Note that you will need your device to be in stock condition and running KOT49H firmware, as this is an incremental update.

The flashing process is relatively straightforward, and we have a handy guide for installing the update on your device. We released the tutorial for an earlier version of Android, but the instructions are the same, so it should help you with your KTU84L Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi. Just make sure you flash the right file.

Get the Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi Android 4.4.3 OTA zip file here.

If you’re not interested in the do-it-yourself update method, rest assured that the OTA for your Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi will hit your device in a matter of hours, or days at most. The same goes for other Nexus devices, while Google Play devices should follow in a couple of weeks.
