Moto Z2 Play to go up for pre-order on June 8 in India

The Moto Z2 Play will soon be available in India. You’ll be able to pre-order the smartphone at various retail stores across the country starting on June 8. That’s the date when we’ll also get more specific info when it comes to the exact price of the device as well as its release date.

However, Lenovo did mention that those who will pre-order the Moto Z2 Play will have to dish out Rs. 2,000 right away and then pay the rest of the amount over 10 months without interest. To increase sales, the company will be giving out a free Moto Armor pack with every purchase during the pre-order period. It also said that we can expect to see a few great deals on Moto Mods, but didn’t share any specific details regarding them.

As a refresher, the Moto Z2 Play was officially announced a few days ago. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset. There are two variants of the device to choose from: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage and the other with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

It comes equipped with a 12 MP primary camera with phase detection, laser autofocus, an f/1.7 aperture, and a dual-LED flash. The front-facing selfie snapper, on the other hand, has a 5 MP sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, and a front-facing flash.

Unfortunately, the smartphone features a smaller battery than its predecessor. It has a capacity of 3,000 mAh — compared to 3,510 mAh of the Moto Z Play — and can offer up to eight hours of use with just a 15-minute charge, according to Lenovo.

Other features worth mentioning are a fingerprint scanner that supports various gestures, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and expandable storage (up to 256 GB).

A dedicated website for the Moto Z2 Play has been set up where you can enter your details to get notified as soon as it goes up for pre-order. Click the button below if you’re interested.
