LG G Pad Movie shows off features of the new G Pad tablets, in an 80′s world of pastel colors

With the new LG G Pad 7.0 hitting store shelves in Europe this week, LG has graced us with another pleasant, yet somewhat bewildering video advertisement. They call it the LG G Pad Movie.

It was a little over 5 weeks ago that LG first teased their new line of tablets, the G Pad 7, 8 and 10.1. Soon after, we learned that the devices were to be spec’d in what some consider the ‘budget’ category, leaving their older G Pad 8.3 as a viable option for new tablet shoppers. This is not to undercut the new G Pad line, which is more than capable for most casual users. We do wonder about that price though, which is about €199, or just under US$275 for the smallest G Pad 7.0.

The new G Pad line, at the 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch sizes, all will come with 1GB of RAM, 1280×800 screen resolution, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processors and microSD card slot. They tabs will be powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat and are expected to come with LG’s slew of Optimus UI services, including Knock Code and, as they show in the later part of the video, QPair.

We’ve taken the time to talk about Knock Code a few times now, we really like this feature and are very pleased to see if make its way to the G Pad tablets, not just to flagship devices like the new LG G3. QPair is a nifty addition as well, allowing users to pair their tablet to an LG smartphone for syncing purposes. QPair can even allow users to take phone calls on their tablet, almost as though it were a Bluetooth headset, of sorts.

LG does not show off much else new in the video, it is nice to see their Dual Window multi-tasking interface at work, briefly, but we’ve seen that before too. And the ‘touch anywhere to shoot’ camera interface is a nice touch, for all the tablet photographers out there.

What do you think, is LG’s 80′s flashback of a video an enticing call to shop for their new G Pad line of tablets?
