The LG G Pad 8.3 is probably among the best Google Play Edition tablets available, but owners were feeling let down when the Android 4.4.3 update failed to show up. We are now finding out this is because Google and LG had bigger plans in mind. The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition (LG-V510) is getting updated straight to Android 4.4.4.

These are both small updates, so in a way it makes sense that they would jump straight to the what could be the last update before Android “L”. Both Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 come with very simple additions and the usual collection of bug fixes.

The update should be rolling out within the next few days, but we know some of you are not patient enough. Many of you simply can’t wait around for the update to finally show up on its own, so we are providing you with a handy leak to the update files, right below.

It’s simple to install this update manually. You can go ahead and do this by following a tutorial we previously wrote for you. It’s for the Nexus 4 and Android 4.2.2, but just replace the devices and the files – that should have you set and ready to go.

Do remember tinkering with your device and its software can be a bit dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. This process happens to be fairly simple, but do your research and follow steps to the line. If you are not comfortable with this, we advice you simply wait for the update to be pushed out.
