LePan Officially introduces a pair of Tablets, Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich

LePan is not widely known in the tablet industry, I never heard of them until today, but they do have several Android devices that might be worth checking out now. The biggest one is the LePan III, those of you at CES can get a look at it this week. The LePan III comes with Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich. Powered by a 1.5GHz  dual-core processor, and 1GB of RAM. Also includes 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0, a 5.0MP camera on the back and a 2.0MP camera on the front. The LePan III also features 1080p video output, USB and Ethernet ports.

There’s another Ice Cream Sandwich tablet to be announced, the TC978. It’s similar to the LePan III but without the output options, a slower dual-core 1GHz processor, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera only. Finally there’s the LePan II (pictured above) that has been up for pre-order on Amazon but plagued by delays. Unfortunately it’s only running Android 3.2; it’s powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and has the same RAM, storage, and camera options as the TC978. There’s only screen size information given for the II — 9.7-inches at 1024 x 768 — but given the similar dimensions of the other offerings, we assume they all use the same panel. We have heard that it will cost around $299.
