Intel Porting Froyo, as Well

Several months ago, I posted about Intel adding their Moorestown platform to their line of processors. At that time, it had already supported Android, as Intel had ported Android from the ARM platform to the x86 Atom platform for use in their low-power cpus.

Word on the street is they are working on porting Froyo, as well. It’s a bit misleading, as most articles don’t mention the fact that older versions of Android already work on the x86 platform – back in April they already announced that they had ported it. The work they did was separate from the Androidx86 project, but I don’t believe it was actually released to the public.

In any case, they are planning to release an x86 compatible version of Android 2.2 to developers this summer.
