A day after acknowledging the “Package file is invalid” error and putting up a page for the issue to help keep us updated, Google has already fixed the issue.

Google changed the status of the issue to “resolved”, after a week of updating issues on the Play Store. The error was appearing sporadically for pretty much all users when updating applications, and it’s great to see that Google has quickly resolved the issue.
