Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 hands-on preview: video & gallery

Unveiled at CES 2014 as part of Samsung’s new Pro series of tablets, the Galaxy TabPro 10.1 is now the top-dog model in the Galaxy Tab stable. We managed to get a little time with the TabPro 10.1 at CES, which you can see in the video above.

The TabPro 10.1 is a 10.1-inch device with a impressive super clear LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Design wise, the TabPro is basically the same as the other members of the Pro family.

On the hardware front, the TabPro 10.1 has either a Snapdragon 800 CPU or an Exynos 5 Octa, depending on if you’re buying the Wi-Fi/3G model or the 4G LTE model. Other specs include 2GB RAM, 32/64GB storage with microSD, an 8MP back cam, 2MP front cam and 8220 mAh battery.

The TabPro 10.1 certainly packs a fair amount of punch, and in many ways is quite similar to the existing Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition with the biggest differences being that the TabPro only has 2GB of RAM and no stylus support.

Where the TabPro 10.1 really stands out from the Note 10.1 is in the software. Not only is Android 4.4 KitKat available right out of the box, there’s also over $700 worth of bundled software and subscriptions that are designed to give you a more “pro” experience than you’ll find with a typical Android tablet.

The TabPro 10.1 also features a new Magazine UX, replacing the older TouchWiz launcher. The new interface is very clean, highly functional and has a style that better takes advantage of the extra screen real-estate found on larger tablets.

And that concludes our first look at the Galaxy TabPro 10.1. Be sure to stay tuned to Android Authority, as we’ll be sure to bring you more Pro series-related videos and information in the future.
