At IFA 2013, we got to see the wares of a multitude of vendors, from large and powerful players like Samsung, to numerous underdogs, the companies fighting for the long tail of the Android industry.

While you wouldn’t think of HP as an underdog in most circumstances, when it comes to Android devices, the storied American company is very much a minor league player. Does that mean that its products aren’t worth out time? Of course not.

We got to spend a little time with HP’s latest Android products at the Pepcom Digital Focus event in Berlin and Josh recorded a couple of quick look videos starring the HP Slate X2 convertible tablet and the HP Slate 21 All-in-One.

The HP Slate X2 features a Full HD IPS display and is powered by Nvidia’s powerful new Tegra 4 processor. We found the interface smooth as silk and the fact that HP opted for stock Android is a big bonus. The Slate X2 is obviously sold as a productivity device, which is visible in its understated design but also in the presence of a keyboard attachment. The keyboard contains a battery of its own and provides a few extra connectivity options. Overall, from our limited time with the accessory, we find it pretty useful, especially since it includes a trackpad.

The HP Slate 21 is one of the more unique Android devices that we’ve seen at IFA 2013 – a 21-inch Full HD Android-powered All-In-One PC. While it’s debatable how ready Android is for use on PCs, the Slate 21 may be an attractive option for those looking for a simple, powerful PC that can tap into the Android ecosystem. The Slate 21 is powered by a Tegra 4 chip, and, as you can see below, it’s adequately fast. One of the best use cases for this AiO could be gaming, especially since the Slate 21 supports TegraZone games and Bluetooth controllers.
