European Nexus 7 unlucky buyers get €30 vouchers from Asus

In case you happen to live in Europe and have recently purchased any Nexus 7 model – and by recently I mean at any time just before October 29, when Google unveiled new Nexus products, updated Nexus 7 models included – then you’re in luck, as Asus is ready to offer a small apology token.

The Nexus 7 maker will reward unlucky buyers that got the Jelly Bean tablet before Google announced new pricing for the 16GB and 32GB Nexus 7 models with €30 (₤25 in the UK) vouchers to spend.

Sure, that might not really make up for the fact that you’d still get “stuck” with either an 8GB or 16GB Nexus 7 instead of being able to get the larger capacity 32G Nexus 7 (whether Wi-Fi or 3G model), but you’d still get to spend that vouchers for additional products.

Unfortunately the vouchers are only good in the Asus stores, and in order to be eligible for them you’d have to prove you purchased your unit either from Google or Asus. You have time until November 30 to request your voucher, which has to be used by December 31, or just in time for the Christmas holiday.

While this isn’t entirely bad news, we have some not-so-good news for U.S. Nexus 7 buyers that are in the same situation. Asus does not have a similar project in place for them, or at least not yet.

Any thoughts on this move from Asus?
