Amazon bought the company behind the Ring smart doorbell earlier this year, and since then it has incorporated the Ring devices into its hardware unit. The Ring Video Doorbell 2 allows you to see what’s going on just outside your door on your smartphone or tablet, no matter where you might be located. The 1080p video camera lets you see and speak to whoever is at your door for that extra bit of security. It also can be activated via motion sensors or if someone pushes the doorbell button. You can save recorded videos from the doorbell for an extra fee, but you get a 30-day free trial to test that feature out.

In addition to the big discount, Amazon is throwing in a free 3rd generation Amazon Echo Dot speaker with the purchase of the Ring Doorbell 2 during the sales period. You can link the speaker to the doorbell so it can respond to voice commands as well.
