Deal: Get a Nokia 3.1 for $140, get Android 9 Pie by the end of March

HMD Global’s revival of the Nokia smartphone brand has been, by most accounts, a rousing success. One of the best parts about the new Nokia is the abundance of inexpensive Android One phones, such as the Nokia 3.1.

Well, today there’s a Nokia deal happening at Amazon.com which gets you a Nokia 3.1 for only $140, a cool savings of $20 off the already-low normal price of $160.

Unfortunately, this Nokia deal only applies to the black variant of the 3.1 — the blue and white variants are both still at the standard price.

Editor’s Pick

The Nokia 3.1 is no powerhouse, but it’s no dud, either. It comes with a 5.2-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1,440 x 720. Inside there’s a 1.25GHz octa-core Mediatek 6750 mobile chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of onboard storage (expandable with the microSD slot). There’s also a headphone jack, dual SIM slots, and a 2,990mAh battery.

The best feature of the device, however, is the fact that it runs on Android One. Right now, the device ships with Android 8.1 Oreo, but by the end of March 2019, it will get an upgrade to Android 9 Pie. With that upgrade will come many Pie-specific features, including access to Digital Wellbeing.
