Asus Nexus 7 dock dramatically unboxed on YouTube

Youtube user Mike Stringfellow has uploaded a rather overly dramatic video of himself unboxing the official Asus dock for the Nexus 7. Mike was in Tokyo on business and somehow managed to persuade a salesperson from the Yodobashi in the Akihabara district to sell him the dock ahead of the official launch date.

As for specs, all we know is that the dock has a 3.5mm audio output terminal for connecting to external speakers and micro USB connector for charging. Sadly there doesn’t appear to be any sign of an HMDI connector or any other video output. From the back of the box we can also determine that the dock weighs in at 280 grams and has the dimensions of 220mm X 65mm X 30mm. It will set you back 3490Yen, approximately $42, but appears to be currently out of stock on the ASUS Japanese website.

Unfortunately there is no information available from Asus about when this product will be making its way to other territories, but hopefully it won’t take too long.
