Any Archos 5 users out there still proudly using their device will wake up to a firmware update for the tablet as of 5 days ago. The most notable improvement you’ll see is that it now has native support for OpenGL 3D hardware acceleration. Developers that target the platform would love this, and the end-result for users would be nothing short of mouth-watering if it’s ever taken advantage.
Other improvements include the addition of ThinkFree 2.0 (office suite), improved memory management, new 3D games (presumably to take advantage of that newfound hardware acceleration), and more. Grab the download and installation instructions now by making your way over to the Archos website.
