Amazon Kindle Fire tablets now available at GameStop with $25 gift cards

Amazon Kindle Fire
Have you always wanted to buy an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet but somehow still haven’t? Is it because you can’t stop hanging out at GameStop long enough to log on to Amazon.com and make your purchase? Well, today is your lucky day.

GameStop has just announced that it has started selling the Kindle Fire family of tablets “just in time for holiday shopping” in all 4,400 of its retail locations throughout the U.S., as earlier reported. All new units are bundled with free $25 Amazon.com gift cards that can be redeemed at the time of purchase as part of a limited time offer that lasts until January 31st of 2013.

The 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire HD can be purchased for $199.99 while the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ is available for $299.99. Meanwhile, the original 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire is priced at $159.99 a piece. All three tablets come pre-loaded with forked versions of Google’s Android operating system and can be used to download and install all kinds of multimedia content from Amazon.com.

In case you’re wondering whether or not it’s worth buying any one of these tablets for the software, just remember that none of them come with standard access to Google’s Play software store. Instead they rely on Amazon’s own app store for apps and games. It’s nice but its selection is not as expansive as the official alternative from Google itself.

If you already use Amazon’s services extensively, or think you can survive without Google Play, then head on to GameStop now and take your pick.
