The next time you do your grocery shopping, don’t be surprised to see Acer’s latest budget tablet – the Iconia B1 — being offered there. According to reports, several supermarkets in the UK have begun selling the Jelly Bean tablet.
For now, the Iconia B1 is available in ASDA and Sainsburys, but others may have stock of the tab as well. As for the kicker, the 7-inch tablet can be yours for £99. This is in line with what the B1 is expected to go for in Europe (€119).
The Acer Iconia B1 is £100 cheaper than the Nexus 7, which at first glance might make it the more attractive buy, but note that the lower price comes at the expense of its specs. For example, the 7-inch display on the B1 only boasts a 1,024 x 600 resolution. You’ll also only be getting a dual-core 1.2GHz MediaTek MTK 8317T processor and 512MB of RAM.
Other specs of the tablet include an 8GB internal storage, a microSD slot (up to 32GB of extra storage), a front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
