Huawei S7 Android Tablet Gets Reviewed

The Huawei S7 is an Android OS tablet computer that resides somewhere between an Apple iPad and the Dell Streak. In advance of its official UK release date, the 7-inch tablet did get a once over.

One of the surprises that the Huawei S7 review unit throws us is the move away from a capacitive touchscreen display to one that is a resistive screen which is said to not function as well with the Google OS. However, it should be noted that this is a review unit and perhaps the official tablets will come with an integrated capacitive touchscreen display.

The display is not the only concern with the S7 as the battery life has been rated for 1.5 hours of active use which is significantly less then the 10 hours of use that is seen with other devices on the market.

What the S7 does have going for it is a good speaker system and 720p HD video playback, two traits which provide an option for customers interested in a smaller tablet that still offers a movie machine option. It will be interesting to see how the final version of the Huawei S7 tablet looks when it does make its debut. Will Android OS be fully configured to provide the best battery performance and will capacitive touchscreens make their way into the final product?

Videos after the break.
