Listen out, Android developers out there interested in working on a phablet, Samsung is ready to release a Galaxy Note 2 Developer Edition as long as you’re ready to purchase it from Verizon.
The South Korean company has already listed the handset on its web page (model number SCH-I605), although it’s not clear when the special edition Galaxy Note 2 will be available for purchase.
We’re looking at the same Galaxy Note 2 model you’re used to by now. But we’ll note – no pun intended – that the Developer Edition only seems to come in a 16GB flavor and only in Pebble Blue.
Pricing details are not available at this time, but considering that not to long ago Verizon also released the Galaxy S3 Developer Edition for full price, we don’t expect this Galaxy Note 2 to be subsidized either.
Of course, if you don’t have the extra cash to pay for an off-contract high-end device like the Galaxy Note 2, you can always unlock the bootloader of your subsidized Note 2 and use that model for dev-related purposes – not that we’d advise you to do so in the first place.
That said, we don’t have a release date for this model, so get ready for some extra waiting, something you should be used by now, as Verizon’s regular Galaxy Note 2 was released a lot later than everyone else’s.
And yes, the Verizon-branded home button is still very much in the picture!
