10.1-inch Sony Xperia Tablet Z leaked, release date not yet revealed

You know what would go very well with an Xperia Z smartphone? A Sony Xperia Tablet Z, of course, although using approximately the same name for two different products may be somewhat problematic.

The Xperia Z is undoubtedly one of the stars of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show edition – and the new Sony flagship device has received quite a few commendations from CES. So it makes plenty of sense for the company want to pair the high-end smartphone with an equally high-end Xperia Tablet Z, especially since it plans to focus mostly on high-end and mid-range Android devices in the following years.

The product is not official yet and there’s no way to confirm the rumor just yet, but we already have what seem to be the first leaks out in the wild detailing its specs and features. According to tweets posted by @Xperia_info, here’s what the Xperia Tablet Z  (model number SO-03E, dubbed “Pollux”) will have to offer:

  • 10.1-inch Full HD Display
  • 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB storage
  • 8.1-megapixel camera
  • 2.2-megapixel front camera
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • 6000mAh Battery
  • Wifi a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • NFC
  • LTE
  • Waterproof and Dustproof IP55/IP57
  • 6000mAh Battery
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

The Xperia Tablet Z tablet is said to be similar to the Xperia Z smartphone when it comes to design, although no actual images are available at this time.

While release dates aren’t available either for the device, the Xperia Tablet Z is expected to hit stores in the second quarter of the year, heading first to Japan and Hong Kong before reaching European and other international markets.
