Deal: Save up to $350 on Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy Note 8 at Best Buy

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy S9 hasn’t exactly been the sales performer Samsung was hoping for, so we’re not too surprised to see the 2018 flagships receive hefty discounts via Best Buy (h/t: Droid Life). The 2018 devices aren’t the only Samsung flagships on sale either, as the Galaxy Note 8 is also getting in on the action.

The steepest discount can be found on Verizon contracts, as the carrier is knocking $350 off the 64GB Galaxy S9 duo or the 64GB Galaxy Note 8. This deal only applies to new customers or those seeking a second line. The $350 price cut takes the form of reduced monthly rates, so you’ll be paying $18.41/month for the Galaxy S9, $23.41/month for the S9 Plus, or $24.41/month for the Galaxy Note 8.

Verizon customers looking to upgrade can still save $200 on either device, however. This discount applies to customers on Sprint and AT&T too, in case you’re not a fan of the Big Red carrier in the first place.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus

The promotion comes just over a week before Samsung reveals the Galaxy Note 9, so the time is certainly right for discounts on its predecessor. But the Galaxy S9 deals are particularly noteworthy because it’s Samsung’s latest flagship, further driving home the fact that the new devices aren’t setting sales charts on fire.

Editor’s Pick

In fact, the company used its Q2 earnings report to confirm “slow sales” of the Galaxy S9, blaming a “stagnant” high-end smartphone market. Samsung adds that it’ll respond to rival devices with the “early introduction” of the Galaxy Note 9.

Nevertheless, if you don’t care for the S-Pen stylus, then this Galaxy S9 deal is probably the better one. After all, the Note 9 is expected to share the same processor and a similar camera setup.
