HTC’s Nexus tablet said to get official keyboard case

HTC’s rumored Nexus tablet has gotten all kinds of leaks and rumors. We know the general specs, but today’s new leak brings forth an accessory (among multiple) we had never heard of before. It seems Google and HTC are putting together a keyboard case to make the HTC Volantis/Flounder a much more productive gadget.

A couple images of the product have emerged, showing only the general outline of the keyboard folio. The source gave enough details to get a general idea behind this accessory, though. The foldable area will turn into a triangular shape, making it a stand for your tablet to lay on.

When the keyboard is not in use, the tablet is meant to lay on top of the keyboard area, making it look like a more traditional case/folio. The unit will reportedly run on Bluetooth 4.0 and a 450 mAh battery, also featuring an NFC chip for easy pairing.

The device’s measurements are 228 x 320 x 5 mm, with keys only raising 3 mm high. These numbers seem reasonable for a 9-inch tablet, which is the size we are expecting the HTC Nexus device to measure in at.

This is looking to be a great keyboard for those who want to take full advantage of the rumored tablet. The device will be very productive at 9-inches (3:4 ratio), and the accessory can work both as a regular cover and a keyboard dock. Not to mention the battery and other useful features.

If even half of these features are true, this case will make for a must-have accessory for any HTC Volantis user. I would certainly sign up for one, but we just have to wonder how the price tag will look. It definitely doesn’t look like a cheap product, guys.
