Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 KitKat update arriving to the U.S.

Last week we learned that Android 4.4 KitKat had begun rolling out to the Wi-Fi variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. At the time, the update was only available in select countries such as Columbia.

For those that have been waiting patiently to get their hands on KitKat, you’ll be happy to know that the update is reportedly starting to make its way to more regions, including the United States. Keep in mind that this is only for the Wi-Fi model, though hopefully the 3G/4G variants aren’t too far behind.

Like we’ve seen from other Samsung devices that upgraded to KitKat, there aren’t a whole lot of changes here except for the new features you’d expect from Android 4.4 such as immersive mode, cloud printing, white status bar icons and other performance improvements. The change-log for the 550MB update is fairly vague, but we imagine that there are at least a few Samsung-specific changes and bug fixes as well.

If you’ve yet to receive a notification on your Note 10.1 2014 (Wi-Fi), you can always check manually for the update by heading to settings > general > about phone > software updates. Has the update reached you yet? If so, what country are you in?
