Archos 8 tablet will land in the UK

FOR COLLECTORS OF TABLETS, the Android powered Archos 8 will be available in the UK in the second half of this year, not long after the June release of its sibling Archos 7, which also uses the Google OS.

While the Archos 7, which will be available from June for £129.99 ($200), is an updated version of the 2008 released Archos 7 320GB model, although updated with the Android OS and improved battery life, the Archos 8 is not only designed for web browsing, social networks and video but also acts as a picture frame.

The Archos 7 can provide 7 hours of video playback and 44 hours of music, compared to 4 hours and 12 hours, respectively, for the earlier version.

The company did not quote battery life figures for Archos 8 or provide a UK price.

However the portable media player company told The INQUIRER, “the Archos 8 will be coming very soon after the 7, this year”.
