NetChef: A Tool for Your Kitchen

Using a tablet or smartphone in the kitchen has made the lives of home cooks a lot easier. But one concern of many people is the fact that they are using their tablet with dirty hands. After mixing an ingredient, they need to swipe their fingers across the screen of their device. Because of this, there are many who would rather use a recipe book.

NetChef is the answer to this concern. Primarily, NetChef was built as an Android recipe device. But its intelligence does not stop there. It can also play music, hold photos, connect to Facebook, give weather updates, and even run other Android apps. The good news is, you no longer have to upload your favorite recipes on the device. Upon purchase, you can choose from the 500 built-in recipes on the device without requiring an active internet connection. Moreover, there is an endless supply of other recipes to choose from through the database of its own manufacturer, Sungale. You can also download other Android cooking apps to help you.

Currently, NetChef is running on Android 2.3 and is not upgradeable to a newer OS. It has 2GB internal memory but also has an expandable SD card slot. It has an 8-inch touchscreen that gives a variety of easy to follow recipes along with attractive pictures.

Because it is primarily designed for use in the kitchen, you can’t carry the NetChef around with you. It is chunky yet sturdy plus it can be cleaned easily; what more would you want from a personal chef? At least it’s not Remy (from Ratatouille) pulling your hair strands when you make a mistake in the kitchen.

NetChef can be purchased from Amazon at $270. While it’s cheaper than most Android tablets, it is more expensive than a typical cookbook. What say you? Will you be buying one anytime soon?

Useless gift for my wife for Christmas. When she turns it on it just flashes the same screen about a dozen times that says “Unfortunately, the RecipeLauncher Has Stopped”. And then it goes to a blank blue screen. No troubleshooting steps for this at all in downloaded guide. I am embarrased to say the least.

Worst product I have ever purchased!! Don’t waste your money on this product. No troubleshooting support. My product is stuck on “booting” and I have no support for hard boot information. Bad Product!
