If you’re looking at buying a new tablet, you should consider getting the new Acer Iconia A200. It’s a new tablet manufactured by Acer featuring a 10-inch Ice Cream Sandwich ready device that’s just 35% cheaper than the iPad. Available versions of the Iconia A200 are the 8GB ($329) and the 16GB ($349).  On January 15, the Acer Iconia A200 will start shipping equipped with the Android 3.2 Honeycomb. However, the tablet will receive an ICS upgrade just a month after.

‘The primary focus here is to bring the pricing down, make it more affordable but still maintain the large screen,’ said Eric Ackerman, Acer Product Manager. ‘It would be logical to presume we’re working on a next-generation 10-inch tablet of a high caliber. The tablet market is a fun category in that it refreshes quickly, and [moving quickly] is one of our strengths.’

Apart from attracting people to its price, the A200 is perhaps, one of the few tablets that sports a full-sized USB port. This can be used for attaching hard drives, a keyboard and even a mouse. Adding to that, it has a MicroSD memory card slot and a MicroUSB port. Comparing to other devices, its 2MP camera is located at the front. While it doesn’t have a camera at the back, it does a red or gray back cover version. Other specs of the tablet include a Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, 1280×800 LCD screen, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. It also boasts of a 3260mAh batteries capable for 8 hours of usage.

The tablet will be showcased at CES 2012 along with other models.
