Black Friday has evolved considerably over the years. What once began as a one-day shopping event has turned into something much bigger. Many Black Friday sales begin days before November 29th, and stretch into Cyber Monday and beyond. Last year we also saw an increase of pre-Black Friday sales as well. Black Friday is now essentially a month-long event, starting slowly in the first weeks of November and then ramping up throughout the rest of the month.
When should you participate in Black Friday?
Now that Black Friday’s timeframe has blurred you might wonder *when* you should actually participate. The answer to that depends. Many of the best deals typically take place between November 28 and December 1.
That said, sometimes it doesn’t hurt to get in on an early deal even if the price might slightly lower later in the month. Why’s that? Simply put, there’s less competition so you’re more likely to actually get the product. Waiting until the best deals come out often means you’re fighting in a virtual or physical line to get your products. Beyond that, some retailers will put out solid deals earlier so they get more attention now, instead of competing with the tons of other retailers offering sales during Black Friday.
When will Black Friday ads become available?
Every retailer is different and many wait until the last possible minute to release official ads. That said, ads often leak starting in early November and by the second week most of the ads are already available. So far Target, Lenovo, Costco, and NewEgg are among retailers that have ads available. You can look at a full list of official and leaked ads at the Black Friday Ads site but we’ll be curating a list of the best Black Friday deals from several retailers during the first two weeks of November so check back on this page often.
