Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 expected to launch in India on January 19

Xiaomi is quite successful in India. A few days ago, the company announced that its revenue in 2016 exceeded $1 billion. It has quite a few great devices on offer including the Redmi Note 3, which is very popular among Indian consumers.

Xiaomi has recently sent out invites for a launch event that is taking place in New Delhi on January 19. Although the Chinese manufacturer has not revealed exactly which device will be announced, it is expected that it will launch the successor to the popular Note 3 smartphone, the Redmi Note 4.

As a refresher, the Redmi Note 4 was announced back in August 2016 in China. The budget-friendly smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio X20 processor, but the Indian version of the device is expected to feature a Snapdragon chipset.

There are two versions of the device available. One with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage that retails for CNY 899 (around Rs. 9,000) and the other with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of space, which is available for CNY 1,199 (around Rs. 12,000).

The device also sports a 13 MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus, a 5 MP selfie snapper, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 4,100 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s custom skin on top.

Details regarding the release date of the device as well as its price are currently unknown. All will be revealed at the launch event of the Xiaomi Redmi 4, which kicks off next week.
