Samsung’s Marshmallow roll-out continues today with another update heading out to last year’s Galaxy Note 5, this time in the US. Oddly enough, the first update for the Note 5 to land in the US comes from Verizon. Better yet, the handset is being updated straight to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, complete with the latest patches and emojis.

The build carries software version number VRU2BPB2 and includes the new base Android features, including Google Now on Tap, Doze battery manager, and the new and improved app permissions, to name just a few. Samsung has made plenty of its own changes with the update too, including tweaks to the user interface and icons, a new version of its stock web browser, and some new features integrated into the main camera app.

Essentially, the update brings the Note 5 closer to the software that we have seen inside the company’s new Galaxy S7 flagship. You can read Verizon’s change log for an even closer look at exactly what’s new.

The update begins rolling out today, so keep an eye out for that OTA notification over the next week or you can perform a manual check through Settings->About Device->Software Updates.
