Update, February 18: Xiaomi has contacted Android Authority to inform us that the powerpoint presentation from which the specs below were leaked “did not originate from Xiaomi”. While the presentation itself may be fake, that’s doesn’t necessarily mean at least some of the specs mentioned aren’t accurate. Stay tuned for more on the Xiaomi Mi 5 as we get closer to launch day.
Original post, February 17: The Xiaomi Mi 5 specs sheet has been leaked, with a full breakdown of the hardware to be found in the upcoming flagship, which will officially be announced next week during MWC 2016. The leaked Xiaomi Mi 5 specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15 GHz and 3 GB and 4 GB RAM versions.
The specs are sourced from slides reportedly destined for the launch presentation next week. They also include a 26 MP camera with Phase-Detection Auto-Focus, super-fast 0.05 focus speed and incredible f/1.6 aperture. GizChina is reporting the Mi 5 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage will come with a 16 MP camera with OIS and laser auto-focus and the 4 GB/64 GB version will have the full 23 MP shooter.
Other Mi 5 specs on the slides include USB Type-C, microSD expansion, Cat. 10 LTE, dual-SIM, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and the return of NFC. The site mentions a previous leak that shows a 3,000 mAh battery as well. As always, you can’t take these specs as final until Hugo Barra takes the stage in Barcelona, but they certainly make for some interesting comparisons with the Galaxy S7 and LG G5, especially when we take price into consideration.
