They figure that since you you’re already sporting a Galaxy S3 and/or Galaxy Note – or planning to buy either of the two real soon – you won’t have much use for your older but still working phone. Instead of letting it sit and gather dust, you can trade it in for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 or 10.1.

Older devices that you can trade-in for a brand new Galaxy Tab 2 are the Apple iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the Samsung Galaxy S2. Giving up your old iPhone 4 or Galaxy S2 means you’ll be getting the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 in return. Trading in the iPhone 4S, meanwhile, gives you the option to choose between the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 or the bigger Tab 2 10.1.

Remember that the promotion ends on September 10, so time is of the essence. You should be receiving the Galaxy Tab 2 slate within 28 days. While devices that are eligible for the trade in are rather limited for now, Samsung said that they will add more devices in the coming days.
