Toshiba introduces the Excite 10 SE, a 10.1-inch Jelly Bean tablet for $350

The tablet market has been one tough nut to crack for Toshiba. In theory, the company’s wide array of attractive tablet offerings should have no problem gaining the adoration of many, but the magic just wasn’t there.

Even though the Japanese manufacturer hasn’t quite succeeded in gaining some meaningful traction in the market, it’s not ready to call it quit just yet, as it’s rolling out the red carpet for the upcoming Excite 10 SE tablet. Following the leaked specs and pics last month, Toshiba has now made the Excite 10 SE official by announcing its availability and price.

Design-wise, the Toshiba Excite 10 SE looks similar to its non-SE cousin, if somewhat slightly bulkier. The 10.1-inch Excite 10 SE also boasts the same NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor. Other specs include a 3MP rear camera, HD front-facing camera, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD support, stereo speakers with SRS Premium Voice Pro, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Toshiba is hoping to lure buyers with the Excite 10 SE’s pricing. The 16GB model is going for $349.99, and it will be available for purchase from its online store and select retail stores starting December 6. If you ask us, it’s a pretty good price for a 10.1-inch Tegra 3-powered slate.  But what do you think? Will you give the Excite 10 SE a try or a pass?
