Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt is visiting South Korea, which is home to several major Android smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and LG. But aside from just Mr. Schmidt, Google is bringing another thing to Korea: the Nexus 7.

It seems Asian markets are going to experience some price differences across ance, countries. For instKoreans can get their hands on the 16GB Nexus 7 at 299,000 won or about US$ 268. In contrast, the Japanese have to pay 19,800 yen or US$ 255. Singapore is also getting the Nexus 7, but there’s a steep price to pay. The 16GB model sells for S$ 399, or US$ 325.

The Google Nexus 7 (made by Asus) took the Android world by storm since its launch, and Google even had to temporarily pull out the item from the virtual shelves due to demand. Given the price factor, it does seem more attractive than offerings from other brands and platforms, like the Apple iPad.

With its launch in Asian markets, we can perhaps expect the Nexus 7′s — and Android’s — market share to grow further. Sure, the item has been on sale on the grey markets in the region for some time now, but there’s no substitute for being able to buy it from official channels with support.
